1972 Sheriff Robinson New York Mets game used home jersey

This is a 1972 Sheriff Robinson #55 New York Mets game used home jersey. Robinson was a coach for the Mets who was added to the staff when manager Gil Hodges died on April 2nd and Yogi Berra was named manager while Robinson coached first. It's a Rawlings size 46 (It is missing the Rawlings tag, measures 23.5 inches arm pit to arm pit and is 33.5 inches long) shows use and is in good condition except for a hole on the bottom of the back tail.

This was an extra jersey with no year tag (you can tell that it's a 1972 jersey by the way the tail is shaped and where the Rawlings tag was located which are both different than later Mets jerseys this style) put into service for #55 Robinson when he was hired on short notice. It has had a number change from Robinson's #55 to #27 which was likely worn by Craig Swan sometime in 1973 however the numbers have been removed. A from us Ball Park Heroes!
