Miami Hurricanes 2003 Brandon Meriweather College Football Jersey. Brand/Model: Nike Game Issued Authentic. Signs of wear including several small scuffs and stains. Meriweather was a freshman in 2003, and the signs of wear are consistent with the amount of playing time Meriweather received. I've attempted to photo match the jersey, but footage I was able to find it too grainy to be conclusive.
No paperwork accompanies this jersey but it is reasonable to assume this jersey is game worn. The tail end of the legendary University of Miami football dynasty featured some incredibly talented players who unfortunately couldn't secure one last Natty before the program fell off a cliff. Brandon Meriweather was one of those superstar defenders who played five years for the Hurricanes and went on to have a very successful NFL career making two pro bowls and helping the Patriots make the Super Bowl in 2007 after an undefeated season, of course only to lose to Eli and the Giants. After being given a medical redshirt in his freshman 2002 season, Meriweather played the majority of the season in 2003 on special teams and in different nickel and dime packages.
He got his first start against West Virginia as a nickel back and finished the year with 22 tackles, one interception and five pass break-ups.
